Taylor 2: modern dance [Friday, 6:30 pm]
Few artists of our time have had the profound impact on their art form that Paul Taylor has had on dance. Fifty-fi ve years after he made his fi rst avant garde works, he has a collection of 130 dances performed by his own celebrated Company and Taylor 2 as well as renowned dance companies here and abroad. Taylor 2 was formed over 10 years ago to ensure that the works of this highly popular choreographer, Paul Taylor, could be seen by audiences all over the world, unhindered by economic or technical limitations. This dynamic 6-member company works tirelessly to meet the needs of different communities. To quote The Aspen Times: Inclusion in Taylor 2 is a major achievement and a signifi cant rite of passage in the dance world. Taylor 2 is just as strong as the main company, in different ways. Theyre really exciting and they bring a freshness to their work that cant be duplicated. Taylor 2 will perform two classic works, Airs and Piazzola Caldera, at Sweet Pea. [Bowl/Main Stage]
