| Always a highlight of the Festival, 100 artists and crafts people from the Gallatin Valley and around the nation will converge in Lindley Park to sell their wares to the public. Wander under the canopy of shady trees and explore the arts and crafts vendors. Sales will be open during the following times: Friday from 4pm8pm, Saturday from 11am6pm, and Sunday from 10am5pm. |

ART SHOW |

Bozeman Public Library Community Room
The Sweet Pea Juried and Open Art Shows will once again be held in the beautiful Bozeman Public Librarys Atrium Gallery. The shows will feature a diverse collection of artwork, ranging from watercolor and oil paintings, to photography, sculpture, and jewelry. Everyone is invited to attend the opening reception on Thursday, August 5. The shows run from Thursday, August 5 to Thursday, August 26, and may be viewed during the librarys normal business hours: MondayThursday, 10am8pm; and FridaySaturday, 10am5pm. |

THE SWEET PEA BALL |
Swingin on a Star
Saturday 7/31 7pm Emerson Center Ballroom
Get ready for a heavenly evening at this years Ball. Were bringing the event back downtown for "Swingin on a Star" at the Emerson Center Ballroom. Swing and glide on the dance floor to big-band favorites and more by popular local musicians Jeni Fleming and the Glen Johnston Swing Band.
The Ball is the official kick-off for the Sweet Pea Festival with doors opening at 7pm, a complimentary swing dance lesson from Bozeman Swing at 7:30pm, followed by dancing from 8pmmidnight. Catch special dance performances and join in the fun for the annual Sweet Pea Ball swing dance contest. All ages are welcome and semi-formal or dressy vintage attire is encouraged.
Advance tickets are $15 per person at Cactus Records, Vargos Jazz City, and Borders, or $18 at the door. For more information, please direct all inquiries to ball@sweetpeafestival.org.

BITE OF BOZEMAN |

CHALK ON THE WALK |
Tuesday 8/3 All Day Main Street
Decorate the sidewalks of downtown Bozeman with your own artwork! Chalk on the Walk is a favorite way for many Festival attendees, both children and adults, to express themselves during the Festival of the Arts. Create your own artistic statement on Main Street between Grand Ave. and Broadway. Chalk will be provided after registering at Grand Avenue Christian Church, 110 South Grand from 9:30 - 10:30AM. There is no fee. |

CHILDREN'S ACTIVITIES |
Sat. & Sun 8/7 & 8/8 12pm-3pm near the family stage
On Saturday children of all ages can make rainsticks and balloon hats, create marvelous wood sculptures, and paint at easels. On Sunday, bring a white cotton item of clothing to tie-dyewe have everything you need except the fabric and the imagination! There will also be paper maché, printing, book-making, and stamping, as well as an opportunity to help create a unique poetry flag mural that will appear at Sweet Pea Festivals for years to come. Each days activities will also include face painting and bubble-making fun. |

CHILDREN'S RUN |
Saturday 8/7 10am (Precedes parade) Main Street
The FUN starts here! Following the success of recent years, the Sweet Pea Childrens 1K Run will lead the Sweet Pea Parade. What a great way for your family to spend their Saturday morning! The race begins at 10am sharp at Main Street and 8th Avenue and ends at Main Street and Church Avenue.
Entry forms are available at the Bozeman Swim Center and the
Beall Park Recreation Center. Registration is at the 19th Street First Security Bank, August 46 from 10am6pm. There is no race day registrationsorry, no exceptions. Entry fee is $2 August 45 and $4 August 6. There are several age divisions. Children 5 and under must be accompanied by an adult (there is no fee for the adults).
On race day, runners are asked to be at the start by 9:45am. An information sheet will be handed out with race numbers at registration, please read it with your child. For more information, please call the Bozeman Recreation Department at 582-2290 or visit the Applications & Forms page for updates.

Growing up in a family where it was the job of the listener to decide whether or not a story was true, Bil Lepp became adept at spinning tales and exaggerating circumstances at an early age. Bil has received awards and recognition from the Parents Choice Foundation, the National Parenting Publications Association, Storytelling World, the Public Library Association, and has been featured numerous times at the National Storytelling Festival and the Smithsonian Folklife Festival. |

Presented by the Tears of Joy Theatre, this enchanting story of a baby fruit bat who falls into a birds nest is adapted from the beloved book by Janell Cannon. Poor Stellaluna tries to adjust to her new home but finds herself the odd one out, hanging by her feet and disgusted by the bugs brought home for dinner. What a relief to discover she is a bat! |

FLOWER SHOW |
| Calling all local gardeners! Bring your sweet pea blossoms to display at the Flower Show tent in Lindley Park, near Information Headquarters. Entries are free and will be accepted Friday, August 6, from 11am2pm. Judging will take place 2pm5pm with winners announced at 5:30pm. Be sure to cast your vote for peoples choice by 6pm on Saturday!
Back by popular demand, we will be hosting a Sunday afternoon tea at 2pm in the Flower Show tent. You are invited to join us and celebrate this event started last year to honor our distinguished friends at the National Sweet Pea Society in England, who attended the 2009 Festival. Please stop by and enjoy the fragrant sweet peas while sipping authentic English tea!

In 2008 and 2009, Carrie was named Roots Music Associations Folk Songwriter of the Year. |

Big Bad Voodoo Daddy

Since their arrival on the music scene in 1993 in a legendary residency at Los Angeles Brown Derby nightclub, Big Bad Voodoo Daddys irresistible live show and aggressive, musically perceptive approach has proven them over time to be the singular standout among the numerous bands that launched the nineties swing revival. The group forged a massively successful fusion of classic American sounds from jazz, swing, Dixieland, and big-band music, building their own songbook of original dance tunes. Curtis irresistible dance tunes, a propulsive rhythm section, and harmonica prowess help fortify his reputation as one of the best soul singers on the planet. Today, with multiple solo CDs and high accolades from peers and fans alike, Bozeman has the rare opportunity to see and hear this musical icon who helped build the contemporary blues and soul scene. Based in Portland, Oregon, Curtis was the inspiration for the characters in the Blues Brothers sketches, albums, and films made famous in the late 70s. He was voted 2010 Soul-Blues Male Artist of the Year at the 31st annual Blues Foundations Blues Music Awards in Memphis, Tennessee. |

Fishtank Ensemble formed in 2005 and is one of the most thrilling live performances in the music scene today. Consisting of four fun and diverse virtuosos playing a wide range of styles, from gypsy and Romanian to French and flamenco, the band has been touring the US for the last year, most recently to promote their new album, Woman in Sin. |

THEATRE |
| Bozeman is chock-full of talentcome check it out for yourself at the Sweet Pea theatre selections! The schedule starts Friday night when Shakespeare in the Parks presents a gripping story of betrayal in Julius Caesar.
Saturday, a full day of fun starts in the morning with something new to the Festival this yeara presentation of your favorite movie scenes acted out by both the teen and adult groups of the Montana Actors Studio. Next, the Kaleidoscope Players will be back for their 10th year at Sweet Pea, followed by the fan favorite Spontaneous Combustibles and their fast-paced, hilarious brand of improv. Afterward, you definitely wont want to miss the Missoula Childrens Theatres performance of Robin Hood.
The fun continues Sunday with the ridiculously fun and charming Fairy Tales Gone Wild performed by the Kaleidoscope Camp kids. The Spontaneous Combustibles will be back, along with more improv fun by The Silly Moosegoofy improv for kids of all ages, and then a workshop by the Missoula Childrens Theatrethis time for teens. The final show on Sunday will be Shakespeare in the Parks performing a joyous and fantastical comedy: A Midsummer Nights Dream.

Your Sweet Pea wristband entitles you to participate in all Festival events held in Lindley Park. Your wristband must be worn around your wrist and visible at all times for admission to the Festival. Sweet Pea is not responsible for lost or stolen bands. Sweet Pea has leased Lindley Park from the City of Bozeman August 6, 7, and 8. Therefore, a wristband is required for admission to the park on those dates. No refunds on wristband sales. Admission sales are the Festivals primary source of financial support.
